Last Standing Charter Member To Win Great Prize

Certainly the laws of nature dictate that at some time in the future there will
no longer be any Charter Members on this board. I ask now that SDMB, e.g. Creative Loafing Media, award a prize for the last standing Charter Member.

Beyond the recognition, a prize will give us a long term goal to shoot for.
Plus, if the owner’s choice of prize is big bucks (inflation protected), well,
that would be nice, too. However, our Most Herald Leader might have a
more appropriate prize in mind for the winner.

How about it?
Please?

(Needless to say, C.M.s would be ethically obligated not to dilute the base by subversive means.)

Moving from GQ to ATMB.

I know you can’t give away an account (or use someone else’s) but is there a provision for inheriting an account?

No. Can’t inherit, can’t give away a screen name, can’t sell it, etc.

Everyone must have their own individual screen name, one and only one. It’s not a commodity that can be bought and sold or traded or given away – or should be.

I am Charter MacBorborygmi of the Clan MacBorborygmi.

Watch out, bonitahi.

While none of us have any idea what the future holds, I hope this is a contest that doesn’t have a winner for a long time.

Agreed. But the Laws of Nature states that in time there will be a winner.

That’s just fucking great.

I strongly urge all potentially deceased Charter Members to bequeath their accounts to a Cat’s Home.

Not to forecast doom and gloom and so on, but the board/CR/CL will probably be insolvent before the last Charter Member dies.

I think you mean “next.”

If we want to start a survivor’s pool, I’ll toss five bucks into the pot.

Wait…41 years old, not in the best shape…maybe I should think this through a little better…

Maybe the administrators can think of a non-monetary recompense,
such as an hour at Charlie Rose’s table. Or be allowed to sit in for
Andy Rooney one time. There must be something…

Any good ideas out there?

…or 15 minutes face time with the Perfect Master…ya know He will live forever!

Well, the board could fail permanently long before then…

The odds of failing to re-subscribe are much greater than dying, at least on average.

On a long enough timeline everybody dies. Not everybody doesn’t resubscribe.

I predict that everyone who dies will subsequently fail to resubscribe.

Of course, everyone who fails to resubscribe will subsequently die, but the average interval will be much longer (unless there’s something very sinister afoot).

TSD is based in Chicago…

Aren’t tontines generally divided into age cohorts?

There can only be one!
