Considering that I’ve been married and divorced twice and re-married again before I turned 31, someone can have the first two marriages.

I am single, white, and a little over the age cut-off. (Did I say white? I mean something a little closer to glow-in-the dark, with sunburnt edges for contrast.)
I am, however, excluded from this statistic by virtue of being Canadian. Therefore, I will claim that I am a member of Kallessa’s glorious 19% (Of which there are a few more in the Great White North, even with Ginger of the North’s defection!).
I have a bumper sticker which sums it all up: Beautiful, Intelligent, Talented, Charming, and H****. Now I just have to stick it on my car…
Well, seeing as I’m Chinese and therefore don’t fit into the statistics, I guess I’m just an anomaly.

Have you tallied how many lady Dopers have gotten married or engaged in the past year? I posted a list on JavaMaven’s and JustPlainBryan’s engagement thread. It wasn’t short. And it didn’t even include couples like moi and that darn cat who already knew each other before joining the boards.
I’d say they’ve gotten plenty busy. 
Well, that’s good. The more people that get married, the fewer single people will be here. The fewer single people, the lesser the competition.

I think we should have t-shirts made up–I’m Part of the Proud 19%.
And when people ask us to explain it, we can meet single men. Or married people who know single men. Or parents of single men. Children that know single men. Gay men that know single straight men. We will meet single men, I mean, they are out there, aren’t they?

You got it partially correct–Independent, (though not necessarily financially–marrying for financial security is a bad idea), and well-adjusted, but I hardly see what marriage has to do with the desire to have children or a life time committment. Women can have children outside of marriage, and I’m committed to my family and my friends for life and beyond. I’d like a life companion and lover as well, and I like the idea of marriage, so sooner or later I’m walking down an aisle, and I don’t think I’m in the minority here.
Yeah, now if they would just get busy in my direction! ::sigh::

Lsura You and I have been on the boards together a long time with never a cross word. So, we already have a comfort zone established. We are in the same region of the US, plus, I know you well from you posts, It would be nice to have someone around who has such interesting things to say.

Sure here is much hotter than there in the summer, but we have a nice sized SCA light fighter group. Merredias does not have eppe, but Schlager is easy enough and I have more than I can use as it is. Think of the fun we can have road tripping to events
