Latin scholars: How legit is the dialog in the Starz series Spartacus

I’m not especially wild about the show, but I love the dialog for some reason and although I have a passing familiarity with the language, it’s only at the 1st to second year level.

What I specifically am referring to is the sentence construction or what I guess would be considered syntax (although I’m sure there’s a more specific term for it). For example, ‘I barely know the man absent furrowed brow.’

It’s such a simple but I think artful construction. However how true to the common parlance is quite another issue.

If this belongs in Cafe Society, please move. I couldn’t decide but since it seemed mainly a factual issue, I settled on GQ.
