Didn’t we used to call this maniacal laughter?
::ducks::
I am very interested in any theory about how laughter brings on seizure-like symptons. I am somewhat receptive to the concept because I’ve nearly laughed myself sick uncounted times.
A piece on broadcast television about a funeral home employee who began to have one of these laughing seizures during a ceremony is what brought this to my attention. Evidentally, the guy blacks out totally just as he begins to laugh uncontrollably.
(We are gathered here to <giggle> mourn the passing of <snort> Uncle Fred <splutter> who shall be sorely missed <bwa ha ha ha ha…>. Smith! You are so fired!)
I’m just wondering about what sort of brainwave pattern is triggered by intense laughter. If indeed it is capable of over riding nominal mental activity there may be an element of truth to laughter being good medicine. Perhaps a good laugh “resets” the mental registers and clockwork.
Anyone have information or experience with this?
