Laughing to death?

How many deaths have been recorded as laughing to death?

This reminds me of the old Monty Python sketch about the secret wartime project to develop a joke so funny that it killed whoever heard it. They had to develop it in the lab, test it, then translate it into German while keeping it lethally funny.

Sorry. I’m not being helpful re: your question. Interesting question though.

i’m not helping either. :o But anyone see Mary Poppins? The old man died laughing…we never got to see it though…

I love to laugh…

Again, i reiterate: Interesting, conceptual question.

Didn’t Cecil do a column? maybe I CAN be helpful!!

Okay he did one on tickling:
(He does talk about laughing fits so enjoy…maybe you will learn something.)

Hmm… popped in to point out the similar thread here.

I’m not sure what the causes of death would be. If you laugh hard enough to lose oxygen, you would pass out and resume breathing (or so I would think).

On the other hand “you can’t spell slaughter without laughter” would make someone (a sick and twisted someone) a great sig line

I’d guess thousands, between those bizarre disease you get from eating brains or those medieval infectious dances. But I really don’t know.
