For the Laurel and Hardy fans, TCM is running a number of their shorts and longer films starting at 2:20PM on Dec. 28th. This follows a showing of The Golden Age of Comedy about comedy in the silent film era.
He also wrote most of their stuff and often had a hand in directing. Before his movie career, he was the stand in for Charlie Chaplin on his theater tours, and from all I’ve heard he must’ve copied Chaplin’s act perfectly.
