I am starting to use Discord and Omegle – still have not found virtual friends to audio talk to. I will not use video chat – just audio.
Learning text forums was easy. By the time I posted my first message to SDMB, I had about 6,000 English and 8,000 Russian posts on multiple forums.
But forums do not really help with loneliness like audio chat.
Typing is much slower then speaking.
There is no non-verbal communication.
Answers can take hours.
No privacy.
If you have any experience in learning Discord/Omegle, please share.
Does not anyone have experience learning Discord/Omegle? Can anyone share?

As you were told in your previous thread, most people who use the voice feature on Discord use it for coordination during video games and things of that nature. I’ve never come across a Discord channel where it was used in lieu of text for idle chatting (I haven’t really looked either, though).

I guess so. Perhaps there is some other voice/video equivalent of the forums.
As far as voice chat is concerned, there is a lot of stuff I do not know. There is even more stuff I do not know that I do not know.
For a long time I was looking for telephone friends. Now I am more into finding online places to talk to people in real voice.

Here, you might find something you want from this list: https://disboard.org/servers/tag/voice
There’s some servers there I wouldn’t touch with a sanitized pole but a few might work for you. A couple labeled “Voice Only”.
I have never used any of them and offer no guarantees about their content or friendliness.

Thank you. I will have to learn more about Discord. I have unlearned voice talking to people.
