David Cassidy (her real son, iirc) has dark brown, nearly black hair, brown eyed (as was his IRL father Jack Cassidy)
Susan Dey was brown haired.
Danny Bonaduce was a redhead
Both kids who played Chris were light brown nearly blonde haired
The kid who played Tracy was reddish brwon haired (auburn?)

David Cassidy is Shirley Jones’s stepson, not her real son. But on the show, yeah, all those kids looked more like they were adopted. And JFTR, the first Chris had dark brown hair, and the second Chris was blonde.
That wasn’t hard to figure out–those three girls all looked amazingly like Joey.
You might be surprised to know that this isn’t at all unbelievable. Not long ago, there was a mixed race couple who had two kids; one would have made a good Nazi recruitment poster if their features hadn’t been pure Negroid, while the other had skin as black as various proverbially black things but otherwise looked entirely like a honky.
Leaving aside the acting, Michelle Trachtenberg wasn’t a good match for Sarah Michelle Gellar in Buffy. Not only do the two girls look entirely dissimilar, but Trachtenberg also bears no resemblance to either Kristine Sutherland or Dean Butler, the thesps who played her character’s parents.
How about Illeana Douglas ? The first movie/TV show I saw her in, I would have sworn she was Goldblum’s real-life sibling (poor girl).
I’ll see the OP’s Rains-Chaney & raise him a Mom Maria Ouspenskiya-Son Jimmy Stewart pairing from THE MORTAL STORM. Yes, she had her accent, no, he did not share the accent.

Some more real life weirdness: One of my uncle/aunt pairs have black curly hair, brown eyes and are both over six feet tall. Their first daughter is tall, black curly hair, brown eyes. Their second daughter is tall, white blond with blue eyes.
One of the Mistie movies – I forget the title – featured a “daughter” of the Captain Adama clone who was supposed to be late teens/early twenties but her face appeared to be that of a woman in her 50s. It was a Battlestar Galactica ripooff with actual clips from BG and sets from it – made much of the railings on the set. It was truly sub-moronic but the woman in her twenties was a hoot and the Misties had much fun with her.

Doesn’t Barbra Streisand play Mimi Roger’s YOUNGER sister in The Mirror Has Two Faces? I didn’t see it, but Mike Nelson made a comment about it in one of his books. I mean, I know Babs is supposed to be egotistic but that’s just…not right.
