I recently read Cuckoo’s Egg. I was impressed.
My nomination? Gotta go with the biggie: the Star Wars universe. It’s great as pulp, but it gets worse and worse the more seriously people try to take it, Lucas included.

Everything in the movie Armageddon.
I liked “Armageddon”!
But anyway, I’d have to say that the worst science fiction novel I have ever read is-----drumrollllllll----
“Ringworld.” Larry Niven. I hated it when I first read it and I hate it now.
But I do know what the ABSOLUTE BEST SCIENCE FICTION STORY IS!
“The Illustrated Man”, by Ray Bradbury. I know that’s not what this thread is about, but still. The story about the rain on Venus? Very powerful.
Anyway, the point is: Ringworld sucked.
Avalonian beat me to it.
