LED HDTV Conundrum

So, last year, I got a nice 46" Samsung LCD HDTV, 1080p, 60hz. Nice set. I’ve had no issues with it, and enjoy it quite a lot. Today, I won a 40" Samsung LED tv from a seminar I attended last week. Pretty cool. Thing is, I don’t have too much need for a second TV right now. I have a feeling I will probably sell one of the two.

The question: would you rather have a good standard fluorescent tube LCD at 46" or a 40" LED TV? I know the blacks and colors should be better on the LED, but is it worth losing 6"? Anyone been in a similar spot, or own one of each?

I’d say sell the 40" set, simply because you’ll get more money for the new, in-box 40" set than you would for a year-old unboxed 46" set. Park the money in the bank, and when the 46" set dies eventually (which could be years from now), you should have enough for a 46" or larger LED set next time.

I wouldn’t want to lose 6 inches.

I agree with Dewey. If you’re happy with your current TV, there’s no reason to get rid of it, particularly for a smaller one, and especially since the smaller one is going to net you more money. In the end, you’ve got the TV you were already happy with, and extra cash in your pocket.
