It’s nice to know that we may have crossed paths before, China Guy. Were you there on Saturday or Sunday (the day Plant’s kid died)? I managed to see the less subdued Saturday show, was among the first hundred in line and sat less than fifty feet from the stage. Effing great show, one of the all-time best. Bonzo and Moon took rock drumming to the next level. Fabulous wastes of talent both.
Zenster, I caught the first day’s show sans Moon. I was crammed about 50 feet from the stage. Sheesh, you must be a Bay Area guy, I can’t remember all the Oak Collesium shows but a really shitty Aerosmith in 1978 was one. Also if you were by any chance into the hardcore scene, Fabmab, On Broadway, Tool and Die, Elite Club, then I’m sure we’ve done some slam dancing together…
Another sign that there is great hope for today’s youth!
Whenever people talk about hard rock of the 70’s or later, they list all kinds of bands, saying “Did you like _______?”(fill in the blank with anyone other than LZ)
and I always hear myself saying either “They were crap” or “Well, they were okay, but…”
It’s taken me years to figure out that LZ set the standard of that genre and no other band has ever come close. Thus, I’m not much of a fan of “classic” hard rock.
LZ spoiled me.
