After thinking of this some, it’s occurred to me that if you consider feminism a leftie movement, there’s quite a few country songs by female artists with a feminist message. The best-known one lately is the Dixie Chicks’ “Goodbye, Earl” (although that combines a feminist anti-domestic violence* theme with a more familiar right-wing country "some people just need killin’ " attitude), but there’s also, for instance, “He Thinks He’ll Keep Her” by Mary Chapin-Carpenter, and lots more.
