Phlosphr do you mind if I’m nosey & ask the guy’s name?
I don’t know anybody with a wolf, but my sister and brother-in-law own a bobcat. They have all the permits, they’ve had it declawed (whether or not you think it’s ethical to declaw a housecat, it’s pretty much necessary if you’re going to keep a bobcat around the house), and they take very good care of it. They bought Baxter from a breeder, and he’s a sweetheart.
I can say they seem to be just like any other dog I have known except that it seems that I have encountered more bad tempered house pet type dogs than wolves.

Years ago an old Trapper from my area raised a wolf hybrid. The old trapper was a frequent patron of the local G I club, and would tell of how docile old “Lobo” is. one day to prove his point he brought both old Lobo and a goat into town, as he said lobo never would bother any animals on his place. Well when he took his pals out to the car to prove his point, You guessed it, There was blood and hair everywhere. And old Lobo was a happy wolf.
I guess I should say the reason I’m asking, a few years ago I got to meet a fellow from Montreal who did wolfdog rescue, and I am wondering if it is the same person (Gary was his first name, can never remember his last). I’ve met one of the animals he has, he was 90% wolf, and I believe part Alaskan Malamute, and he was huge, took up most of the back of the guys pick up truck.
