legs falling asleep: worse than you think

After a heavy night of drinking I awoke one morning with absolutely no feeling whatsoever in my right wrist/hand. I also had no control over that hand, it was completely paralyzed (effect was similar to palsey). I went to the doctor and he said it wasn’t a pinched nerve but an outright tear. It’s interesting to note that the unofficial term for this among doctors is “Saturday Night Palsey.” You drink too much and don’t wake up from the discomfort. So there IS a feedback effect from it. It took over a month to get the use of my hand back. BTW, among French doctors it’s called “Lover’s Arm” - think Coyote Ugly.

whoops, sorry was getting server not found errors

Wow. It’s not unusual for me to awaken with one or even both arms completely paralyzed (shoulder to fingertips). This requires for me to perform some gymnastics to actually get up. Luckily, the feeling always comes back in the span of a few minutes. But to think this could result in a tear and disable my arms for weeks or even a month? shudder

You guys had it easy - have a look at this.
