Leo DiCaprio IS Nolan Bushnell in "Atari: The Movie!"

Variety reports that Paramount Pictures has picked up Atari, a biopic of Nolan Bushnell, Atari’s founder. Leonardo DiCaprio is attached to play Bushnell and is also producing.

I’ve read a lot about the history of video games, and the tales of Atari are often hilarious, surprising, and entertaining- they’d make a great film. I don’t know if DiCaprio would make a good Bushnell, but the Atari story sounds like great film material- innovation, colorful characters, clever lies, corporate incompetence (on Warner Brothers’s behalf, not Bushnell’s)- I’m looking forward to this, and I was born when Atari was dead!

I wonder if they’ll cover Chuck E. Cheese as well.

My God! The likeness is astounding!
“…and the Academy Award for Best Makeup goes to…”

If this is half as much fun as Pirates of Silicon Valley it’ll be gold.

So, who will play the idiot at Warners who bought them?

I hope they have the Computer Space game, and not skip it for Pong only.

This is the best news I’ve heard all day.

Seriously.

I can’t wait to play the video game based on the movie.
Oh wait…
