It’s definitely a different style than Broadway, which is to be expected. “Bring Him Home” is such a hard song and I think Hugh Jackman’s version is pretty good, though I’ll take Alfie Boe on it any day.
The CD is “highlights” from the movie - but then again, if it were the entire soundtrack I doubt they could fit it on one CD.
My SO and I intend to see this film, but I am a bit leery. I love musicals and all, but this does seem like a rather long film and reviews have mentioned that the songs all sort of start to sound the same at some point.

Is it us(the wife and me), or does Anne Hathaway sound off-key a couple times during her “I Dreamed A Dream” solo? My wife and I cringed during one note.
I had heard from people who have seen it that the voice quality was inversely proportional to how famous the name was and I have to agree after listening but I still love this show.
