Only if you link, Kezermezer.
*I obviously wasn’t the one who penned the phrase, but IMHO it would have actual meaning as a sig other than the online equivalent of T-shirts that say I’m so surrounded by idiots if the subject was linked to.

I’ve had the warm fuzzies since reading this story at Planetout. Things have changed so much in such a short time.
Lesbians are incredibly, overwhelmingly, super extra godzilla popular, what’s new?
The kids that walked out of class probably just did it because they wanted to be the lesbian’s friends. I swear to god, I’ve never even heard of lesbians being treated as anything less than goddesses outside of these boards. And no, I’m not just talking about gorgeous lipstick lesbians.
Spot on, Cisco.
Oh really, Cisco? Try telling that to Sharon Bottoms who lost custody of her child to her own mother because she is a lesbian.
Or how about the mother in the case in Alabama this year wherein a California mother lost custody to her ex-husband. Alabama Chief justice Roy Moore wrote that the mother’s relationship made her an unfit parent and that homosexuality is “abhorrent, immoral, detestable, a crime against nature, and a violation of the laws of nature.”
What about Mary Ward who lost custody of her daughter to the girl’s father despite he was a convicted murderer.
When Tampa police officer Lois Marerro was killed in the line of duty, her long-time partner was denied her pension.
I could go on, but I’ll just point you to this website. Or just read the Gaybashing thread for some more real life examples.
Yes all those things are horrible and they do happen even to lesbians, but I can’t think of anything from the Gaybashing thread or personal recollection of anything happening to lesbians in highschool. All the highschool trauma tales are from gay boys. Hmm.
You’re, of course, going to give some kind of reason for that suspicion, right?
OK… so let’s assume that nothing bad ever happens to lesbians in high school. Based on that, what’s your beef with the OP?
Whah, oh? Oh, nothing. The OP is good. I was just responding to Homebrews reply to what Cisco said. In support of Cisco.
In the gaybashing thread, andygirl, a lesbian, posted this:
I stand corrected, matt_mcl. I was wrong for over-generalizing.
Well, Cisco obviously has a beef with the OP, and you were supporting him.
But, given your last post, I guess it’s all moot. Carry on, no harm, no foul.
god forbid anybody says anything disparaging about lesbians
What’s that, Incubus?
I have beef with the OP? No, not at all, I don’t know where you got that idea. I was just stating an opinion based on personal observation.
Sure. Personal experience. Lesbians got flocked around in my high school and college and afterwards at work and in social environments.
I’ve never known a lesbian who wasn’t liked and these were obviously very good looking “lipstick” lesbians which makes the case even more extreme.
How does any of this translate into me having “beef” with the OP? I just don’t think it’s shocking or unusual.
ditto.
Seems like you wanted to rain on Homebrew’s parade by denouncing the credibility of the poll’s result. Perhaps “beef with the OP” was too harsh.
That doesn’t have anything to do with the OP. And it wasn’t supposed to be shocking or unusual. Just to “make us smile.”
The OP is pointing out a step in the fight against ignorance. While in your high school, the same result may have been expected, in mine, it’d be a much different story (in San Francisco, no less.) I don’t see any point in trying to “debunk” the story in the OP. I’m not trying to say you’re a jerk or anything, or invite you to the Pit, but your comments just seem out of place. Why should lesbians-in-general’s popularity take away from the couple being so cute?
