Less common cheeses that you have tried

In my refrigerator right now I have a washed-rind cheese that comes wrapped in cabbage leaves. I can’t recall the name. It tastes better without the cabbage in my opinion.

Robiola incavolata?

I believe that’s the one. I no longer have the label.

Well, yeah, of course. Wouldn’t anything?

The website I cited above about the Robiola in cabbage leaf had this to say:

I think I will pass. . .

The cheese itself is much like Munster. It’s fine.

It’s the idea of eating cabbage leaf ooze that I find unappealing, TBH.

Oh, comeon, I’m sure it has all sorts of interesting immune system benefits!!

A stinky cheese that isn’t US import Epoisses, but to me tastes much better, is Livarot. Livarot - Cheese.com Brie like, but a bit stinky. Not as pungent as Epoisses that I’ve had here, and I understand they’re better in their native land. I’d love for the FDA to get rid of that raw milk cheese aging import restriction.

Have we mentioned Cabrales yet? And what’s this that it’s no longer sold wrapped in leaves?
