Thanks. But Sastre needs all the help he can get. So how about a maillot jeune jaune to give him added wings?
Meh. Sastre is not going to win the Tour, simple as that, no matter how jeune his maillot is. Sorry 'bout that.

Good article on Cadel in today’s guardian, here. I fancy him to bring it home today. I’d like to see Menchov pull something out of the bag, but it would take a miraculous something at 2.5 mins back. Either way, should be a great day’s cycling.
Want to give that prediction another try? There were certainly wings in that maillot jaune…old man’s flying out there! His best TT ever!
That’s twice Cadel eats Spanish dust on the last TT to lose The Tour!
Spain owns the Tour! Three and counting what with Contador back next year – eleven all-around.
Viva Carlitos Sastre, winner of The Tour de France 2008!
Viva España!
Disappointing ending…congrats to Sastre, I guess. I don’t know, there wasn’t really anyone I was a fan of in the top 6 anyhow. Somebody has to win I suppose.
Cadel just didn’t have enough - he will be gutted. Great ride by Sastre hanging in there - he made the defining move on L’Alpe and is a deserved winner.
I’d be cautious about cheerleading for Contador RedFury - that way lies disappointment. Extremely dodgy rider - the French will (rightly) test him every day if he rides the Tour next year.
Good take, Busy Scissors. Pretty much as I saw it. Riis’ CSC was by far the strongest team and by keeping Sastre on a leash till the magnificent climb up l’Alpe d’Huez, he had the better legs today. Simply put, Cadel doesn’t have much of a team – not that I like his wheel-sucking style on the climbs mind you.

As for Conti…test away, for my money simply the best and most exciting rider in the world today and about to complete a triple (Tour, Giro and Vuelta) that will get the kid in a very selective club which solely includes “The Cannibal” Merckx, Hinault, Gimondi and Anquetil. Not bad company to be in at 25.
Sure, all kinds of suspicions about him…but so what? That only makes him the most tested rider on tour. And yet, what of it? Clean as a whistle each and every time. Not even a doped-up Ricco could beat him at the Giro. I honestly see (more) great things in his future.
