Let's discuss CarMax

Speaking of used cars and being overpriced…

I just went through the ‘need a new car let’s take a look at the used cars out there…’ time and, again, found nothing but way overpriced cars.

Is there anywhere that actually sells reasonably priced used cars (like what Edmund.com says retail price should be?)

Gotta chime in to agree with those who say the prices are high - can’t comment on the service, because I’ve never actually bought there.

OTOH, if you’re selling a crappy car (and I have mucho experience in this regard) - ie., you’re expecting less than $2k for it, take it to Carmax. You’ll get your $2k. It seems to be as low as they’ll go.

IME there is no one place like that. Each used car has its own story - and therefore should be priced differently. A dealership (or a place like Carmax) is not going to want to fool around with that - it’s too time-consuming ( = costly). I’ve only found reasonable prices by vigorously hunting for them. YMMV.
