Because she’s never been able to act before, why would she suddenly be able to now? I find the allegation that she was faking to be nothing short of asinine. It’s not a rational or plausible theory. It smacks of an inherent inability to see her as human.
I’m a little alarmed at how quickly it’s become acceptable for newspapers to say she cried the other day. I read a New York Times story today that twice said her eyes teared up. I don’t really feel like watching the thing over and over, but her voice caught, and it caught a little. Enough to make you think “Is she going to cry?” a few seconds later, and then she didn’t. I saw no tears and no misty eyes. I heard her voice crack for a second.
As for the rest of it… for the most part she is a typical politician. People have an image of her as one of The Best, The Worst, The Most, but generally she’s not, aside from the fact that she is one of the most successful. She does have a habit of saying one thing Monday and then insisting on Wednesday that she’s always believed the opposite, but that’s not unique to her either.
