More specifically, RAI, the national Italian TV network. Those bastards over at OLN aren’t providing any live Giro d’Italia coverage, so I’m trying to find a source for some live coverage. I know that the Giro will be on RAI Three, but beyond that, how does an American viewer go about finding it? Do they happen to do any online streaming or anything?
Is there any other possible source for my TV fix of Giro coverage?
I’m with you. OLN is starting to suck. Both the Giro and the Vuelta have been much more exciting races to follow than the Tour for the last few years. Watching Isidro Nozal rise to the challenge of the individual time trials in the 2003 Vuelta was fantastic.
Anyway, I’ve heard that www.cycling.tv is an option.
I have yet to try it and the site doesn’t seem to be up today, but it is supposed to be live streaming video of the races. Let me know if you have any luck with it.
Trust me, I know about cycling.tv. It’s an absolute blast, their commentators are a level and a half above OLN’s. I’ve e-mailed them about the Giro, but apparently the rights are just too difficult to secure. It’s easier for them to get smaller, but still very exciting races Belgium like K-B-K and Panne, etc.
Thanks. If I find any more information elsewhere about this, I’ll be sure to bring it back to this thread.
Someone on a cycling newlist I subscibe to mentioned that Dish network offers it on a DISH500 system.
I chose the DirecTV system over Dish two years ago just because it had OLN on the cheap tier.
Oops. That’s for RAI International, not RAI Three. I wasn’t able to determine if RAI International will air the Giro.
For about $6, OLNTV is providing a webcast of the weekday stages. Archived, so you can watch them when you want to. They are still airing live weekend coverage.
