Let's Pit WalMart employees again

You should out-WalMart WalMart and get a package of blue polos for $10 on Amazon.

Technically, the Pink Panther doesn’t talk, so the Pink Panther didn’t say anything to anyone.

Excellent pitting, made all the better by DrDeth’s inarticulate objections to it.

My coworker and I happened across a really good deal at an Aeropostale outlet that was phasing out last year’s polos for $2 a pop, unadvertised. We bought all of their wearable sizes on the spot. (Shame that they had an employee so jerkish that my friend cussed him out on the sales floor… I was trying to get her out of there before we lost our deal). We stocked up there, each got a week’s worth of shirts for cheap. Pants are what killed us. Amazing how hard it is to find black/khaki pants that aren’t jeans/jeggings/chinos/whatever that aren’t expensive. And she’s gonna have a tough time, she’s got a long torso and has difficulty finding shirts (outside of there, I guess). Emergency shopping to keep our jobs, I’m sure we’ll be seeking out cheap sources ASAP. I’ll probably be hitting some Chinese importers soon for some disposable things that will last long enough.

What’s wrong with chinos?

Not allowed under some interpretations of the dress code, no clarification from management or corporate. I’ve gotten conflicting answers from every level. Same with cargos and such, or corduroys or whatever. I’ll be pushing my luck when the code gets implemented on my shift. They still haven’t even explained if pants need to be solid-colored or if stuff like pin-stripes are allowed.

Well, pedantically speaking (as a pedant awarded pendants for pedantic antics), I find the OP to be overwhelmingly ironic and just a wee bit, not so much sarcastic, as wry (with perhaps a smidgen of slapstick).

Boots on sale at WalMart for $29.99. Use your employee discounts, people!

Nothing. And cool it with the racial slurs.

Looks like they gave less than 2 months of lead time for this, and it’s during the 2 months where people with kids are swamped with back-to-school expenses too. A longer lead time, like maybe 6 months, would have made this at least a little bit more palatable. A person might ordinarily expect to buy at least a couple of new pieces of clothing in that time period anyway. It would also allow people more time to look for bargains or locate some thrift-shop or hand-me-down items. And get their pants hemmed if needed (which costs extra $$). It would have also helped if they had given employees several coupons apiece for extra-deep discounts on compliant clothing.

Sounds like Wal-Mart employees are already in a pit, by definition.

Thank you? I guess… :dubious:
