Let's see your hometown.

I grew up in Wilmington, Vermont (US), you can find a pic of it, here.

I now live near (St. Mary’s County, MD (US)). aka… Here.

That area of Vermont is looking down on Deerfield Valley, from Mt. Hogback. Which, btw, has one of the best Summit resaurants. Yum.

Panoramic view of Melbourne, individual cams can be chosen here

Beautiful O’Fallon, IL

Marvel at our…um, things.

I noticed Ringo has some Houston links. I researched a few of my own. Houston is not exactly rich in old history. What old stuff it has tends to get demolished. Here is a couple of links:

My hometown of Stuyvesant, NY has no presence on the web. Find pictures of:

  • A cow
  • The Hudson River
  • A dirt road
  • A beat-up Ford
  • Some hilly cornfields

Then you’ll have the entire Stuyvesant experience.

Here you go.

I grew up and lived in Omagh until I was 18.

I have lived in London for the last 5 years.

I’ve lived in Brisbane all my life… how sad is that!

But here are some pages:

friend KarlGrenze

thanks for posting those links. my wife and i spent a week in san juan a couple of years ago, and your home town is beautiful! just a couple of days ago, i was describing our day trip to el yunque rain forest, and our ride on the ferry from old san juan to catano.

Conveniently, I recently took some pics of my immediate surroundings and put them online. It’s more like my street than my whole home town, but it’ll do. There’s a couple of nice pictures.

Where I live.

Pukalani is my hometown here…

Why do I feel like I’m on Hee Haw?

Sahhhhhh-LUTE!!

Born in Albany, New York

Moved to Bettendorf, Iowa when I was 7 years old.

I was born in San Francisco, California and have ancestors buried in the Woodlawn cemetery. This is also where Emperor Norton is buried, as are many freemasons.

The University of California, San Francisco is an excellent research hospital and has a very good dental school. My mom took us to the Exploritorium as often as possible when we were young. My niece and nephew loved the Academy of Sciences almost as much as their aunt and uncles did. Picnics at Strybing Arboretum make for a fun (and cheap) date. Yep, we also offer cable cars, two bridges, and lots of hills. More hills than you’ll see on an ordinary tour. The annual marathon is a treat!

Not all neighborhoods are as lively as others, but most have a distinctive touch. Victorian architecture still abounds.

It’s surprising how many people don’t know about Chinese history in San Francisco. Many Chinese-American families have been here for almost 100 years. Although not particularly large, San Francisco is home to many different cultures and languages.

There’s the ocean, of course. Good for surfing. You can see urban buffalo in Golden Gate Park.

There’s lots of good food of almost any kind. Despite the plethora of places to go, our nightlife is rather staid compared to other large cities.

Those tall buildings are safer than you think.

There are still American Indians living here, but we no longer have an an amusement park.

A view from the east. The view at dawn. City cam!

Some more general information.

Here’s my hometown.

Wow. I was born in Albany, too. Small world.

My homeland

Lovely Geneseo, IL.

xcheopis, thanks so much for the wonderful tour of your city. I particularly loved the victorian homes website. Hopefully we’ll be able to visit someday.

What a great thread!! I have really liked checking out all the different cities. Especially the sites with the web cams.

I grew up in Leavenworth, Kansas, well-known for the federal prison of all things.

I now live in Kansas City which definitely feels more like home. Here’s a peek at some of the sites to see.

I grew up in Merrick, N.Y., but I moved to Citrus County, Fla. with my family when I was 16 (we spent most of those years in Inverness). I think of both of them as my hometown.

I guess we all have to be from somewhere, But you donät have to stay there.
