Hate that movie. It promised to be one (bizarre and wonderful) thing, and turned out to be a self-absorbed, self-referential mess. All of the BS about observers on the hill was more gratuitious than a TV blowjob.
How do we know something’s NOT a cult movie that has a very small cult that we’re not members of?
Thirded.
I apparently need to re-watch this one. I watched it when it came out, and just wanted to watch It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World instead.
krondys:
I found Rat Race to be much more enjoyable than It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. In Rat Race, the characters are sneaky and greedy, but mostly make sense. In IAMMMMW, pretty much everything the characters do is completely stupid.
For a cult suggestion, how about “Dead Man on Campus”? The title sequence alone is brilliant, and I remember enjoying it, though it’s been ages since I saw it.
I’m on board. That is seriously one of my favorite movies.
Last month at work, I started a new position that requires me to be mobile throughout the building so we have walkie-talkies. I demanded to be code name Cobra and I tried to give my co-worker the code name Dinah, but nobody got it but me.
