Lets talk about tummy fat, and how to get rid of it.

I’m not actually on any medications (except BCP, which, ironicaly, may contribute to my problem) and my cholesterol is always in the toilet so a bit of extra fat probably won’t be too much of a big deal. I recon that I have less fat currently on my tummy than you’d get in a bacon-double cheese burger.

Anyhoo - I’m still interested in hearing about smell. I hate nasty smelling crap - I may stick with my AbdoChoc 'cus it smells like oranges.

Thats not saying much. :stuck_out_tongue:

A single bacon cheese burger?

Yes… It does smell pretty bad… the kind of thing where you will keep thinking everyone else notices but they really don’t…
Some people add in a couple drops of peppermint oil to cover the scent and while I haven’t tried that myself… they said it worked.
You could also look into the other product Ab-Solved, that does not smell bad at all, and is cheaper. Ab-Solved will probably also work… but Lipoderm is better for the stubborn parts of the body.

On the contrary. If you dig up something from a reputable scientific publication, I’ll be buying a gallon of the stuff. I hit the gym every weekday, and I figure I’m about 6 months away from a six pack. I currently only have the “two-pack” of the definition of the verticle divide of the Rectus Abdominus. If I could lose an inch, I’d be in six-pack territory in time for summer.

yet you feel you are in the position to toss out a roll eyes smiley. You even admit that alot of your reliance on the product is based on testimonials, and from the links I see some questionable scientific claims. That may fly on other boards, but not here. I take your rolleyes smiley as an insult.

Are you sure they’re not one and the same? you DID mention a smell!

Describes me to a tee. Not every message board poster has the physique of the Simpson’s “Comic Book Guy”

Worst Cream Ever!

I meant I could post other reviews… I am not going around searching for scientific proof if the ingredients in Lipoderm promote fat loss with a transdermal application… I trust the reviews I have read, and my own expiriences. Since you hit the gym every weekday, maybe you could offer some advice to Alice…

I rolled my eyes at your “Mayor McCheese” analogy.
My point was that you really do not see an explination of the ingredients in fitness supplements too often.

Again, for those of you who don’t believe such a thing would work…Don’t try it.
If you want to try it… feel free…

I never noticed anything about you having a bad back. May I ask exactly what the problem is? And why your hours and hours of ab-strengthening Pilates isn’t helping? (I’m not trying to be rude-- I’ve had back problems for many years after an accident until I corrected my exercise routine.)

So you’re walking hours and hours each week, and doing Pilates up to 5 hours a week. It still sounds like you need to kick it up a notch. Walking is great exercise, but even power-walking burns very few calories. And since you’re doing many hours of these two exercises each week, and have been for a while, it sounds like your muscles have become very efficient at doing their work-- so you’ve plateaued, and need to change in order to shake things up.

I recommend you take up swimming-- even at a leisurely pace, you’ll burn more calories than walking, and you should be able to swim even with a bad back (my uncle swims, and he broke his back).

My problem is scoliosis - rather impressive scoliosis (my spine is in the shape of an “S” and it corkscrews to the left near the bottom, and to the right near the top). The pilates helps immesurably - fabulous for pain control. The reason for the limit on high impact exercise is (as goofy as this sounds), high impact type sports tend to jar the “S” that is my back into a more pronounced s shape which is rather painful. In addition, because of the unevenness of my back, one of my hips is wonky, as is one of my knees. Trust me, low impact is better.

As to swimming - that’s an excellent idea, except that I’ll drown if I try it - I’m the worst swimmer in the world, despite having taken lessons multiple times. I sink like a stone, and somehow manage to swallow MORE than my body volume in water - impressive really.

Honestly, I don’t want to lose weight. I don’t need to tone up. I don’t need to increase my exercise exponentially and decrease my fat % (as I mentioned, I’m already below 20% and I like having boobs). I just have one, teeny, tiny problem area that I wanted suggestions for. I think merge has offered up the best sugestion so far, for my particular problem.

I am, however, still interested in other exercise suggestions. Low impact. No water. I may try an eliptical trainer, although they look a bit scarey. (Legs and arms flying everywhere - yowza!)

Barbarian has a good point. I often see a spike in results when I change my routine.

Two words: Breast stroke. Keeps your head above water, and still strenuous enough that it’s a work out. And it’s the only way I get through water without a boat

But despite your wishes to the contraray, there’s no way you can lose that bedaine without dropping your total body fat percentage, unless you go the surgery route.
