What, a Celtic rant that hints at a conspiracy against them?
How unusual.

I don’t see any hint of a conspiracy in that rant FG. You must be getting paranoid
you’re talking shite FG, talking shite.
As for Liam Miller (and not Miller ;)), I hope his next shite is a hedgehog.
Nope. No suggestion of a conspiracy here.
No suggestion that this was anything other than an everyday, any other player, transfer. Nope. Nothing that reveals the Celtic chip-on-the-shoulder, they’re-all-out-to-get-us. Nothing that could possibly be taken to say that anyone choosing to transfer away from Celtic must be the result of dodgy dealing.
No sign of that Celtic paranoia at all.
Oh come on FG, saying that Ferguson and Keane may not have played strictly by the rules in attempting to lure Miller away hardly equates to hinting of a “conspiracy against Celtic”. I’m sure they would have done the same if he was playing for any other team, and I’m sure the fans of that other team would feel exactly the same way we do.
Now if Twisty had suggested for example that David Murray was in on it, that would be hinting at a conspiracy against Celtic.
So, how about them Giants, eh?
PSV is another example.
I just haven’t figured out a way to work the masonic bond into it yet
The recent record of players from the SPL moving south is pretty abysmal. I think Miller is right to move early so he can play some decent football year round but Man Utd mightn’t be the ideal destination. I can’t agree that staying at Celtic would have been the right choice.
Twisty,
You’re right that the Premiership is becoming more like the SPL but I would argue that the also-rans in England are of a significantly higher quality than their counterparts north of the border.
thats the thing. He CAN play decent football year round, and his best oppertunity is with Celtic. He’s going to be warming the bench at Utd for a while for £25k a week.
He could be playing first team football in the SPL and the Champions league for £20k a week, and guarenteeing his international place.
If he stayed with Celtic for another 2-3 years and played his game right he could walk into any English Premiership midfield (or in Europe, with the exposure he would have gotten in the CL with Celtic. )
His loss.
Well, we all got our faults. I’d be really hating you if you were Tottenham. Anybody want to come to the impending car boot sale in Leeds with me? we could have a Straightdope team for next to nowt.
Them’s fighting words old chap.
Not only can you get players for next to nothing at Leeds - they pay their wages for you too.
You’re missing the point. Miller wasn’t leaving so he could “play some decent football year round”. If it was any other EPL team that had come in for him he would have stayed. He left because it was Manchester United in for him. Now he won’t be playing decent football at all.
Then…there’s hope? Cos I have to confess having been swooning for you since your astute analysis of both David Blaine and Love, Bites or whatever the latest Hugh Grin vehicle is called
I’m sorry, Owl, can never be…
Up the Arsenal!
well lookit me and my no1 fan
As I used to be so fond of saying, Leeds rule, but sadly this is no longer true. I can’t say I particularly like Arsenal, but i’ll let you off due to your above post.
baby!
Pity I leave London a couple days just before Arsenal face Leeds at Highbury…could’ve been a right old Romeo and Juliet thing going on there…
::sees paulberserker’s sig…swoons::
when do Leeds play Arsenal? I don’t got no season schedule here.
17 April, according to my fixture list. (paper list; I avoid Arsenal’s website as anymore it is nowt but so much flashy red flashy things I sometimes fear my retinas have actually detached, and this is how I’m finding out. All the good stuff is for-pay, anyway. So I follow the matches using the BBC’s text commentary.)
Apologies if this posts 2x…
New York, San Francisco, or They Might Be?
