I don’t think that cleaning the reporter’s clock would get his guy a better shot at winning. I think it would give her a 10-point lead, minimum.
I wouldn’t even say that much. I’d say “No,” and end it at that. Saying anything more, even “I’m not saying that,” would encourage the reporter to keep digging.
