Liberals…notoriously. Especially if you exclude racist & sexist “jokes” or other meanspiritedness masquerading as humor. Conservative “humor” tends to lean towards things like portraying Michelle Obama as a chimpanzee or the Obama White House as having a front lawn full of watermelons.

It’s the same as the difference between a caricature portrayal of me (white, Russian and English) with yellowish skin and a squint, vs. a caricature of you (as I recall, Asian) with yellowish skin and a squint.
One is a historically notable way of race-baiting, one is not.

OP is an interesting observation but it’s just a coincidence unless someone can point out a connection between their business strategies and their political statements. In other words, Steve Jobs and your favorite evil conservative CEO have polar opposite views on, say, gay marriage, but are they doing anything different businesswise?
Except that there is a history of comparing people of African descent to apes, in part to dehumanize them and make it morally acceptable to enslave them. That usage now still touches on that history. Even for an individual or single family (I’ve seen jokes about the whole Obama family being simian), it’s just racist.
People of white, European descent do not have similar associations in their history. It’s just mockery.
