Life in prison without trail is NOT consistent with "human rights standards"

Long-Term Plan Sought For Terror Suspects
This is so simple that in ordinary times it would not need to be said, but we’ve a ‘war president’ in the white house who doesn’t understand, or has contempt for, human rights. Indefinite imprisonment without trial is not consistent with internationally accepted human rights standards.

Yep, it sucks.

Is there a possibility that a U.S. citizen could get caught up in a Homeland security finagle, be considered a terrorist, and not be given the right to appear in court? Or does this only apply to those of middle eastern origin? (Which is still wrong too.)

Hell, Master Wang-Ka already started a pit thread on this.

You can torture it first, if you want.

Hold up, I demand a recount! I mean, is there an answer to my question?

Well, Zacarias Moussaoui case has been going nowhere for a long time. It certainly looks like Bush wants to do an end run around justice for American citizens. Moussaoui does look middle eastern though, so maybe that makes him a special case?

Redundant thread, closed at request of the OP.
