There are a bunch of YT videos of an acapella youth chorus singing this tune, AKA “The Black National Anthem”, prior to the “Star Spangled Banner”, and some goofs are saying that the crowd booed the youth choir. At first, I thought whoever made this video was being satirical, but I have sat through a few of these and if there was any booing, it must have been dubbed in.
BTW, “The Star Spangled Banner” was basically mangled, in usual SSB fashion, by a white female singer, and of course people are in tears while watching it. (Maybe because of the way it was butchered, although not on purpose like Roseanne Barr did more than 30 years ago?)
Anyway, some people just can’t let well enough alone.
