Lightweight waterproof bag

I would like to use the university gym between classes, but I only have access to the coin-op lockers outside the locker room. To avoid stinking up my afternoon class, I will need to shower after my workout; to avoid getting all my stuff stolen, I will need to bring it into the shower with me.
I need a bag that is small or flexible enough to stuff in a coin-op locker (I used a plastic grocery bag when I could just shower at home), that is also waterproof enough to take into the shower with me.
Also, inexpensive would be a plus.

A paddling dry bag might fit the bill. Here’s a 20L bag for $20.

What she said. They work well for on-the-go waterproofness.

I’ve also found Trader Joe’s reusable plastic shopping bags to be relatively waterproof if you fold the top over itself, and they only cost $1 a piece.

I’ve been very happy with my SealLine dry bag. I use a 10L to carry my daily work clothing, it fits perfectly in my bicycle panier, and at $22 was perferct for me. For smaller loads, you might just consider the Pouch.

I have one of these.

I bought one in Thailand with a dedicated carrying strap and it took 6 months of daily abuse while backpacking through SE Asia. Highly recommended. They’re made of significantly thicker plastic then what I’ve seen lightweight the American counter parts. It’s durable, but heavier.

in terms of a daily carrying bag, i’d go with the 15L or 10L. 20L is just too big to carry around like a backpack.

I’m confused. Why can’t you keep the bag of stuff in the locker instead of bringing it with you into the shower?

For post-workout laundry, I just tend to put it in an old shopping bag and tie it off, that tends to contain any odors until I get home and toss it in the laundry.

Thanks! The 20L looked a bit bigger than I need, so I ordered a 13L.

Because…(underlining mine)

Nakedness in the public area outside the locker room is frowned upon. :dubious:

Pffth, maybe at your gym:cool:

OK, so I didn’t make that connection, my bad.
