I’m guessing that ticket sales for the Kennedy Center Honors is an important fund raiser.
Stallone’s brother Frank is a rabid Trumpist. Sylvester is too, but slightly more more low-key.
But will Hulk Hogan be posthumously be inducted?
What surprises me most is that other than KISS and maybe Sly Stallone, this group really isn’t too far outside the norm as far as the sort of people one would expect to receive a Kennedy Center Honor. I was seriously thinking they would be honoring hacks like Kid Rock, Dean Cain, Dinesh D’Souza and Vince McMahon.
I understand you hate Trump but you can’t call Sly Stallone a shitty actor when he’s got two different Academy Award Nominations for acting and has immortalized some of the most ironic characters in cinema. You can say his modern stuff is shit but so are more older actors.
I like the idea that his characters are ironic.
But, yeah, he’s pretty bad. He was decent in Cop Land, but he’s a one-dimensional actor with two nominations for his punch drunk, boxer character. Much maligned actor Keanu Reeves has a far wider range than Stallone. That should tell us something.
I think that was referring to Scott Baio.
Sure, but Reeves is not American. He’s Canadian. That would automatically disqualify him in Trump’s eyes.
Let’s not forget he wrote Rocky.
That’s the thing; I don’t remember previous honorees being checked for loyalty to the current president. That was simply not an issue, partly because previous presidents didn’t get involved in the selection process.
