You’re right. Justin’s character (Michael) thought that Justine’s character (Nellie) was his long lost sister, a management consultant. She was in fact, not his sister, and actually a prostitute, so there was some very awkward byplay as he tried to hire her to work for his company in a business capacity, while she thought she was being hired for her usual work, but there was only limited physical contact between them (still you can see why I thought of it).
Interestingly, she did a song many years ago about her brother Theon. Assuming he was anything like he’s described in the lyrics, it looks like he’s changed his ways!
Jason, not Justin.
I remember reading this somewhere as well. Michael Madsen was pretty disgusted, and I don’t blame him.
Doh!
I kind of get his point and I don’t blame him, but he doesn’t know what he’s missing
Not a movie but I just finished watching the SNL skit where Donnie and Marie Osmond make out. Seems to me like they went a little too overboard just for a dumb joke. YMMV
Now I’m curious to know whether they tried to get Keith Allen to play Theon’s father.
Lily Allen is not really an actress so I’m not sure why you are using this logic.
An actress might be expected to play the role whatever, but a singer who gets offered a small cameo for shits and giggles won’t exactly have the actress mindset.
She might have some regrets if she actually saw the scene. My recollection is Theon’s holding her abdomen, then he begins to slide his hands up, but she stops him long before he goes hill-walking.
No grope, let alone “incestuous relationship”.
I’m pretty sure his hand went kinda way down her abdomen.
She let him grope for a while.
Say what now?
Uh, I’d say there was a major fucking difference between taking it in stride as an actor that you have to kiss people you’re not personally attracted to, and having to kiss people you’re not personally attracted to BECAUSE THEY’RE YOUR SIBLING. Most non-fucked up people are going to have some sort of biological horror instinct kick in at that suggestion.
Alfie, not Theon. I’m reasonably sure Theon isn’t really her brother.
I’ll have to watch the scene again, but my recollection is nothing actually happened. The characters are siblings (unbeknownst to Theon at the time), so she stops his hands before they go anywhere. And there is no kiss or anything like that.
She lets him grope for a while.
Here’s a better (less creepy) youtube link, starting at 2:17.
Yeah. It would be totally and utterly weird to do that with your sibling.
It’s not like pretending to get felt up by your pretend brother; it’s really getting felt up by your real brother.
I started out typing up analogies, but I don’t think there are any.
Ok good. I was starting to get worried at the lack of outrage.
