Lily Allen turned down incestuous 'Game of Thrones' role

According to this:

Theon is played by Lily Allen’s brother Alfie Allen.

I certainly understand her decision. On the other hand, she could have said, “Look, it’s maybe a little weird, but this is acting, and people who are not romantically attracted to each other still undertake groping scenes, because the profession demands it.”

I started a thread about six years ago about the movie “Kickboxing Academy,” in which Chyler Leigh and Christopher Khayman Lee play paramours, and they kiss romantically.

This is the first time since then that I’ve even heard of siblings being considered for roles that involve sexualized contact with each other.

Are there others?

Jason Bateman and Justine Bateman in “Arrested Development” - in the episode called “Family Ties” http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/arrested-development-family-tiesexit-strategy-89406

An actress bothered by a little incestuous groping has no business saying “Game of Thrones” out loud.

I saw that news story too. It seems weird. Has Lily Allen ever acted before? Yara so far hasn’t been a huge role, but it’s not a quick cameo either. Just very strange that she’d be offered it, unless it was as a weird joke.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think Justin and Justine ever kissed or groped each other in that episode. There was some flirting that was weird since the two actors are related, and since Justin’s character thought that Justine’s character was related to him.

There’s a big difference between two unrelated actors who are playing characters who are siblings in an incestuous relationship, and two actual siblings playing characters who are siblings in an incestuous relationship.

Three very minor roles. Very minor. I don’t watch GoT but this sounds almost like stunt casting for the real life familial relationship.

I remember reading somewhere that some director wanted Michael and Virginia Madsen to play a sex scene together. Not sure if the director knew they were siblings, but the suggestion didn’t go over well.

There is?

Actor + actor = acting. Since gay actors play straight love roles and vice versa, and it’s all acting, a familial relationship between the actors shouldn’t matter at all.

Then again, Michael Madsen refuses to see any films in which his sister appears naked (which is all but about two of them). So shrug.

If you’re a human being, sure. Some actors are. I do really wish we could see what Lily Allen’s face looked like when she found out what happens between Theon and Yara in that scene.

Just a bit farther afield and quite harmless, but in the movie Fierce Creatures, John Cleese keeps getting caught in innocent, but sexual-appearing compromising positions with two young zookeepers. One of them is played by his daughter Cynthia Cleese.

She certainly doesn’t have a problem with nudity as any cursory Google search will tell you.

Didn’t Angelina Jolie and her brother do a kissing scene together?

…oh, wait, that wasn’t acting.

Shirley MacLaine famously said of her brother Warren Beatty, “I’d like to do a love scene with him just to see what all the yelling is about”. But I don’t think it ever actually happened.

A Yahoo! Answers respondent, for what that’s worth, claimed that “[t]he dwarf husband and wife characters in Todd Browning’s ‘Freaks’ were played by brother and sister.”

Serge Gainsbourg made a film called Charlotte For Ever featuring his daughter, Charlotte Gainsbourg. The film contains some nudity from Charlotte, who was around 15 at the time, including at least one scene with Serge. I don’t think it’s a sexual scene, but there is some physical contact, I believe.

I don’t see how this would’ve worked. The part is too small, Lily Allen already has a career.

I’m pretty sure there is no clause in the contracts of the actors in GOT, that prevent them from acting, hosting, singing, etc. in other pursuits. Otherwise, many of them would be in violation of their contracts.

There is a line about this in IMDB’s trivia page on that movie:

I see what you did there.

Oh and if she did get in the show, it would be an opportunity for her to show off her superfluous third nipple.

Is there another kind of third nipple?

I remember Jane and Peter Fonda played lovers in “the Spirits Of the Dead”.
