Lily Allen has three nipples. She was on some British game show and she showed her third nipple on camera. You can see it on last week’s Best Week Ever, available for download through iTunes.
And speaking of iTunes, “Smile” was a free iTunes single a while back. I like it well enough but it’s nothing that I would’ve bought on my own. It kind of grew on me upon repeated listenings.
I hate the Smile video. It portrays a psychotic bitch worse than Carrie Underwood’s Before He Cheats. Yeah, both could be construed to be hyperbole. It’s when they show Lily spiking her ex’s coffee with laxative, hiring thugs to trash his place and beat him that I think it’s gone too far. I am surprised someone hasn’t complained and gotten the video yanked in the U.K. yet. They’ve yanked things for less, IMO.
See, that’s the thing. I like “Before he Cheats,” but hate “Smile.” Why? Underwood crafts a sympathetic character, which lets her get away with being horrible. Allen’s character is throughly unsympathetic, and so comes off as obnoxious.
Are you talking about the music video or the song?
Because reading the lyrics, I see no evidence of an unsympathetic or obnoxious character.
I never thought the Smile video was meant to be taken literally- I see it as just trying to inject something different/funny into a tired medium.
The Smile lyrics in and of themselves aren’t too bad. She’s reveling in his downfall, that’s human. However the video goes too far IMO. I see nothing funny in it, excepting the first thirty seconds.
