Remember the big flap about Victoria’s Secret in Tyson’s Corner and the shocking and scandalous mannequins?
Here’s a savvy business owner from Maine who decided to replace mannequinswith the real thing. Predictably, there are some folks who can’t handle it.
Gotta love this one:
Heaven forbid that kids see someone wearing underwear.
And this tidbit:
I submit that those who support a ban are selfish, and their narrow views are morally reprehensible to those who share my outlook.
I Googled to find that store owner’s website, in hopes of showing the hypocrisy of a guy who sells ultraviolent computer games complaining about the moral reprehensibility of a woman who sells underwear.
The best part of this story is that the three young women are volunteers whose only compensation for modeling is free lingerie and a chance to be seen by the public.
Oh no, I’ve worn a bikini around children at the beach - I’m so morally reprehensible and selfish!
If there are parents who are outraged because their children might see something they would keep the kids from seeing if they could, perhaps they shouldn’t drop them off at the shops & expect the shopkeepers and their staff to play babysitter.
Ahh, the video store guy’s just jealous because if he put a couple slacker teens in his store window playing video games, they wouldn’t draw as much of a crowd.
You’re missing the point, 'dopers. What’s morally reprehensible is that the Lingerie Store is causing a revenue drop at the Video Game Store. It’s an affront to capitalism, and I’ll not stand for it!
But wouldn’t you think this would be *good * for business for a video store. Look at the models for a while, then slip into the video store for a video.
Guess it depends on what kind of videos they rent.
