This story brought to my attention Shelley the Rebulican.

Shelley’s side kick Tristan seems to think Linux is a communist plot to destroy the American computer industry.

As he says here.

This would be certainly true were in not for the Linux project’s seductive Marxist ideology and the effect that it has on ‘Blue-State’ liberals. Indeed, Linux is so pervasive amongst the blue states and many liberal universities that a leading computer expert Steve Balmer (from Microsoft) described Linux as cancer.

No disrespect to Steve Balmer, but he is not a “leading computer expert,” he is a business manager.

And guess what software Osama Bin Laden uses on his laptop?

If you guessed it was Linux you would be 100% right. Osama uses Linux because he knows designed to counterfit DVDs, curcumventing the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, and defraud companies like Disney.

WTF?

If you see a company using Linux, it may be that they have not paid for this software. Report them to the Business Software Alliance who have the legal authority to inspect any company’s computers for illegal programs like Linux.

Since when did Linux become illegal?

Yes, Linux is a primative European clone; It is much less capable than Windows. In fact it omits features that were standard in Windows back in 1998; For example Linux has no built-in anti-virus or anti-spyware software.

You cannot even buy popular utilities like Norton Security to compensate for this fact. There are no tools for common tasks like defragging a hard disk. God knows what you would use to send a fax or make a website. You cannot even get Front Page for Linux.

Linux is that bad; The only explaination I can think for people using it is that it by-passes the protection given by American companies and the Dept of Homeland Security. It should be considered a terrorist program.

I have no knowledge/opinion about the OP, but it is entirely accurate to describe Steve Ballmer as a “leading computer expert.”

He’s certainly not a disinterested third party–far from it. Probably no one on earth hates/fears Linux like Messrs Gates and Ballmer. Theres no way either of these guys are objective.

But the guy has been heavily involved with Microsoft, and all it’s divisions, for 25 years. (after graduating with a mathematics degree from Harvard) Linux’s principal competitor is Microsoft.

But if anyone understands operating systems, computers or the computer/software industry it’s Steve Ballmer. He may not write code, but you can bet he knows a ton about Linux.

This is just like that ‘article’ that claimed Loonix (Linux) was invented by a hacker named Linyos Torvaltos and that things like Bonsai Buddy and Comet Cursor were proof that your kid was going to be a hacker.

I have smoked pot and I can’t say I experienced any vivid fractal imagery. I have never taken LSD though so maybe it is that.

Back in college, my friends and I experimented with a few things. One evening we had the tv on, and it was showing fractal images. Having ingested no drugs at all, we pretty much stared at the tv for over an hour, completely blown away (we hadn’t seen anything like it before). It was honestly way, way cooler than anything that we “saw” while under any influence.
