Little fuckers with fucking fireworks

Three words. Banger. Sellotape. Window.

Or maybe that was someone else…

Well …

He was a git not like the lovely curly chick.

The cat wasn’t me however

Aww, thanks for your concern, boys.
You are cordially invited round to my gaff to inspect my lovely new wall.
Anyone with experience in the removal or razor wire is particularly welcome
yojimbo, you will be frisked for Sellotape and bangers.

By the way, if any of you foreigners are getting the impression that Dublin is full of juvenile delinquents and an ineffectual police force, well, umm…

Ahhh but it’s mighty craic all the same.

You keep the contents of Mary Harney’s underwear to yourself, thank you very much.

Hey don’t say anything bad about Mary Harney. Mary Harney is the greatest person on the planet. I looooooove Mary Harney.

I’m sure that plenty of us on the SDMB are not familiar with this group. Is it the Civil Guard or some equivalent?

Could you post a brief description, please?

It’s simply the name of the Irish police force.

Chalk Farm. Lots of lovely council estates.

My mates live there. That’s where I always stay when I’m in the Smoke.

Chalk Farm 2:Celebrities 0. (Adam Ant and Nush off of BB).

Whereabouts?

Since FA Cup final day 1999 I’ve seen Rhys Ifans, singer from Super Furry Animals, Gail Porter, Keith Flint, Helena Bonham-Carter, Chris Evans, Billie Piper, Chris Moyles, Hugo Speer, sat next to Sporty Spice in a pub, sat next to Mike Leigh in a restaurant, watched Frank Skinner pull (he and David Baddiel live in adjoining houses - you can watch DB’s enormous TV through a large window from a nearby bus stop), and had a drunken conversation with Rhona Cameron (she lived in the flat above some friends).

Sorry. Namedropping impresses nobody, but I had to clear it out of my system. The kids with the fireworks will soon disabuse me of notions of stardom.

Shit man, I felt less lost in Beowulf.

Actually I think it’s officially Kentish Town, but it’s just round the corner from the Chalk Farm tube: Prince of Wales Road.

i see. ill look forward to all the banging and crashing. with a shovel in my hand.

I’ll provide a glossary if you need.

Lots of people claim to live in Chalk Farm, since it’s theoretically a lot nicer than where they really live (arse end of Camden, Kentish Town, Gospel Oak).

Er, like me. I also live just off Prince of Wales Road.

National Day firework display just ended in Hong Kong a few hours ago (as mentioned by Green Bladder). Bloody magnificent. Leave the kids and their fireworks alone, you miserable sods.

Tell me - did National Day replace the Queen’s Birthday? And hello, BTW.

Yes please!

I swear, how many countries are now separated by a (theoretically) common language?
