I want to make a Civilization II scenario, but I don’t know what to make. If you could give me a little known war with some details on it, I would be very thankful. . .thanks!!

Little known? How about the so-called “Football War” (also known as the “Soccer War”) between Honduras and El Salvador, in 1969?
Check out this site for details.
In 1969, El Salvador invaded Honduras after Honduran landowners deported several thousand Salvadorans. Five thousand people ultimately died in what became known as the “football war” because it broke out during a soccer game between the two countries.
Or the Winter War (or it’s even lesser known follow-up, blandly called the Continuation War) between Finland and the Soviet Union at the outbreak of WW2?
Yeah, this is a little open-ended for GQ. I’m gonna shoot it over to IMHO.
There’s always the Yankee-Pennite war! That’s right, at one point in history Connectivut decided its terrirories extended (after a breif stoppage in New York) allt he way through Northern Pennsylvania. They tried to force the issue.
It is hard to find info on this war today.
I was actually doing some reading about the Soccer War for background before my last trip to Honduras. Very interesting reading.
This one is hypothetical, and although it would be difficult to make a CivII game out of, here it goes:
-The war started, technically, during WWII when American Lt. L. Ron Hubbard, founder of the cult of $cientology, had his ship fire upon the Mexican coast for no apparent reason. (actual event)
-Modern day: A high ranking member of the Mexican government joins the ranks of the Scientologists…The Mexican government uses Hubbard’s old act as a casus belli for declaring war upon Scientology.
Scientologist Resources (real resources, too):
-City of Clearview, Florida. Population 100,000, though only about 3,500 are members of the Church.
-Naval fleet of about 5 ships, called the Sea Organization
-Over 1,000 members involved in military like organizations within the church
-Internment camps in Clearview
-70,000 members worldwide
…Let the war begin.
I’m not one hundred percent on the title, but I do remember one called “the War of Jensen’s Ear” or something like that. A Spanish captain boarded an English ship and cut off the English captain (Jensen)'s ear. The guy showed it to Parliament and they went to war with Spain. I’m pretty sure thats right.
Here’s a fun little list
Ok, I’m especially liking the Scientologist War (just never really warmed up to that religion) and the Soccer War, but I can’t make a decision. . .Please help me pick!!!

The problem with Little Known Wars are just that- they’re little known, and for a reason. It’s typically because they never had much impact and/or there was little significant battle.
However, in the modern context of things, here’s a war I recommend:
The Soviet-Afghan war (1981-1989). It was Russia’s Vietnam.
Well, <b>Daoloth</b>, I would’ve done a major war, but all those have been done numerous times before, so I wanted to do something new and original. I’m just creative enough to make up my own wars (although I did do an Oasis and Blur war).
Jimmy
dammit, I didn’t even see the vB code thingy up there to use for posting. Sorry.
A lot of people have never even heard of it, but more Americans were killed in the Philippine-American War (1899-1902) than in the better-known Spanish-American War.
I am not making this up.
Almost forgotten in our times. Almost never taught in schools.
THE BEAVER WARS
The only historic records of the Beaver Wars come from the Jesuit Relation, a series of letters and accounts written by Jesuit priests who came to America to teach the Indians about the Catholic religion.

From http://www.encounterzanzibar.com/britain.htm , about the history of Zanzibar:
I’ve always had a fondness for the Toledo War, a border dispute between Ohio and Michigan fought in 1835. Or, it would have been fought if the 2 “armies” hadn’t both gotten lost in the swamps for a week. No deaths, only 1 wounded.
Ohio lost and had to keep Toledo. Michigan got the Upper Peninsula for its troubles, in the bargain.
The Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905
Balkan Wars, which preceded WWI, in 1912, and again in 1913.
ElvisL1ves, this is just hilarios. Great link.
ElvisL1ves , that was hilarious. I think I’ll do that one.
