Does anyone here read the Liturgy of the Hours?
I’d like to hear what others have to say about it. I see it as Christianity’s equivalent to the five times daily Muslim salaat and thrice daily Jewish prayers.

I’m an ordained deacon in the Episcopal Church. Our bishop requires those in Holy Orders to say the Daily Office as part of our spiritual discipline. The office consists of Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer and Compline. It can be found in the 1979 Book of Common Prayer (US) as well as online at: http://www.missionstclare.com/english/welcome/welcome.html
In addition to prayers, the Office consists of readings from the Old and New Testament as well as canticles and psalms.
Hope this helps!
I’m a Roman Catholic and I will, on occasion, read the Liturgy of the Hours. It isn’t an everyday thing, but sometimes it’s nice to pray and feel a sense of solidarity with Christians around the world. It’s kind of like when you’re fasting on holy days and you know that millions around the world are doing the same.

RC here as well. I say Morning Prayer on occasion, but have never been terribly consistent with it. Some years (like this one) I make it part of Lent, and I find the familiarity very comforting.
Another Catholic here. I usually say the Night Prayer (I always sleep too late to say the Morning Prayer). “Lord grant me a restful night and a peaceful death”
