Why is Google so much better then Microsoft live search?
Or even, why wont Live search find even the most basic of search queries?

I was on someone else’s computer and didn’t know the URL for the straight dope……usually I just Google smdb and the first or second link brings me here

But when I tried it in the Microsoft search engine, the results I got where everything except this board, I got a lot of links to random sites, but not this board, when I added message board, still not what I’m looking for, a link to a wiki page and a lot of acronym sites

Does Live search work under some completely different search method? And am I using it wrong? Why the big difference?

Well, I don’t have an answer to your question :wink: but it might help typing in sdmb instead of smdb…

Perhaps you just glanced over it?

When I search Live for “SDMB”, “boards.straightdope.com” is the first result (on Google I actually get “Sonoran Desert Mountain Bicyclists” as the first result).
