The Master addressed precisely this point in How can I find out what neighborhoods are safe? This discusses the CPD’s cool CLEARMap system, mentioned upthread. A drawback of CLEARMap is that police crime reports provide too little detail to get a fix on what’s really going on. This has now been partly remedied by the people at everyblock.com, who have added a comment feature to their outstanding hyperlocal reporting site that lets people provide details on crime reports. Here for example is what comes up for 1500-1599 Morse, which is near the “L” stop:

You’ll need to scroll down a bit; everyblock aggregates EVERYTHING about the neighborhood currently visible online, which in the case of RP is a lot. You may need to provide an e-mail address to access this page (not sure), but if so it’s well worth it.
