Many years ago I read an account of Lizzie’s trial in which the author quoted a woman who was a child at the time of the trial who said that the children of that day did indeed sing the Lizzie Borden song (Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother 40 whacks; when she saw what she had done, she gave her father fourty-one). Furthermore, she said that there were many other verses to the song. Unfortunately the author of the book I was reading didn’t record any of them. Does anyone have any idea about what some of these other verses might have been?
Wiki has some. But they’re a bit anachronistic. ![]()
Actually, that’s Uncyclopedia.

I think we’d better whack this one over to Cafe Society.
Forty times.
Moved.
