Regional tourneys for the Little League World Series are winding down and 2 questions occurred to me:

1)Is there a rule that batters can’t look at/say anything to the ump? I’ve never seen a batter make eye contact with an ump.

2)How long have the players on the teams been playing together? I’m reasonably sure what you’re seeing is a town’s all-star team, not a neighborhood team.

RIght on both counts… I got tossed from a game back in 1981 for beefing about a called third strike… still proud of that…

Hoping some kids from Chicago… Jackie Robinson Little League team repping Illinois make it…

Certainly they can look at the ump. They may, however, be coached not to in order to keep them from disputing.
