Local congressman should've looked at the name!

Okay, this is really pointless and mundane, but our local congressman William Jefferson is on trial for allegedly peddling his influence. However, when I saw the name of the company he was allegedly working with: iGate, I immediately thought, wait a second–doesn’t every political scandal have the suffix “gate” attached to it in the post-Watergate era? This idiot should have known this had scandal written all over it because it already had “gate” in the name! I’m surprised the media hasn’t called it “iGate-gate.”

Here’s the latest article on the trial: iGate exec says he feared retribution during William Jefferson corruption trial testimony

That would require a whole lot of avoiding, just because of an innocuous coincidence; Seagate, Gateway, Red Gate, High Gate, South Gate, Bio-Gate, Golden Gate, Bill Gates…

Nah, it should be: iGate[sup]2[/sup].

i(Gate)[sup]2[/sup]

"Well that’s what I call a sticky situation! Thanks Diane.

And coming up after the break, we give you the latest information on William Jefferson and the square root of negative one times gate squared. Stay tuned."
