Local Hero is a musical with music and lyrics by Mark Knopfler, and a book by Bill Forsyth and David Greig. The musical is based on the 1983 film of the same name, written by Bill Forsyth.
I’ve searched and saw no thread. Obviously I love the film which is why I went to Edinburgh to see the show. It was great! I’d recommmend it to any Londoners or visitors thereto, who like the movie, or are interested in the themes.
I was surprised at the total elevance of the show. I remember the film to be about greed and opportunity, but this is about survival and (dare I say it? - Dare! Dare!) ecology!
Great show, great cast, great songs.
