I’m trying to locate Rio Guarasibo in Chile. No results in Google. Can you help ?
Maybe a mispelling or a mapping to a persons name (on the basis its meant it be named after him ? ). Shortening is often done because people don’t say it the way its spelt.
So look in the list of rivers … There’s three which are close , at least starting with guar…
See if this list will get you to the right one. Guairabo, perhaps?
There’s a Guaraibo, or Guaraivo, lake in the El Yali wetlands.
Mentioned here.
According to the annotated photo here, it is roughly HERE but seems to have dried up now.
Where did you find reference to the existence of this river and what was the context? That might help us track it down if, for example, it was misspelled.
Thank you both for this exhaustive list (and otherwise useful to me). Guairabo is precisely in the region I expected it to be. Google Earth situates it NE of Concepcion. Bibliophage: The name Guarasibo appears on a herbarium specimen label, with no other precision.
