Loking for romeo class submarine plans

I’m looking for a site where I can see an internal layout of any old Romeo class diesel/electric submarine. I’ve searched Google for a while with no luck - plenty of external photos and specifications, but no internals. Basically I’m looking for something which shows the number of watertight bulkheads, number of decks, and location of major internal systems.

The best stuff would be at Warships1 under history of the different classes - 633 and 641. Their submarine message board will be worth a go.

In a circuitous fashion:
This site describes the Chinese Ming class, based on the Romeo class (with a tiny scematic at the bottom of the page)–and mentions that the Romeo class was based on the WWII German Type 21.

A search on the U-boot XXI turns up a few sites with some schematics:

Beyond that, you may want to check out a bookstore for texts on submarines (or used bokstores for the old Ballantine War series books on submarines).

Finally starting that “Do-It-Yourself” project, eh?

How old is the Romeo class? A search at the Naval Vessel Registry turned up nil.

You may want to try the Floating Drydock, they sell a lot of old plans and Navy memorabilia.

The Romeo class wasn’t US, it was Russian (Project 633, built from the late 1950s onwards).
