LOL! (No, no, I mean ACTUALLY LOL-ing - When?)

I just read something that made me LOL. Notwithstanding the frequency of LOL usage in the online world, the times that I actually, literally, really, laugh out loud after reading something are pretty damn rare.

Aside: it was the TelevisionWithoutPity recap of a “Tru Calling” episode that snarks on lead character Tru’s quick exit in the middle of a date to fix an event she’s discovered because she’s re-living the day… "She’s sad, because the date’s going well, but she says sometimes she has to skip out like this, because she’s not ‘an average 22-year-old girl,’ whatever the hell that means. Like the age has something to do with it. The average 23-year-old girl? Oh, she relives days all the time. But 22? Unheard of.

I don’t know why that struck my funny bone as it did, but I actually did laugh audibly for a brief moment, and it occurred to me that this was unusual; I rarely make noise even when I’m reading something funny.

What, if anything, makes you actually, literally, LOL?

The ending to last week’s South Park when:

they found a bearded Saddam behind the curtain acting as the Prime Minister of Canada in the Wizard of Oz rip off.

I haven’t laughed that hard at a TV show in a loooong time.

It happens all the time to me, while reading SDMB posts, and also while reading other things (books, other posts, etc…)

Drives the wife nuts, as she has no idea what I’m laughing about, and I tell her that it’d take too long to explain.

I laugh out loud far too often. Really. Even something just mildly funny makes me laugh. Stupid things make me laugh. I LOL at the SDMB all the time. I laugh out loud at commercials, and TV shows and movies and things that my friends say.

A few days ago, I was watching old Red Dwarf episodes with some friends. In one series 3 episode, called The Last Day if I remember rightly, Kryten is going to be deactivated and accordingly, the gang give him a send-off party. Holly even synthesises something guaranteed to get androids drunk. Kryten drinks some, and then says, in that perfectly deadpan voice, “I feel an urge to strut my funky stuff.”

Well, I don’t know why that line hit me the way it did, but I could not stop laughing. Thinking about it makes me laugh. I’m laughing now as I type this.

Yeah, I’m insane.

You know, I rarely actually put that down when I am on a MB or IM, but even when I don’t I am usually laughing. I am absolutely shameless and will laugh my ass off even at work on a quiet day, so I laugh quite a bit. I even chuckle quite frequently. When I actually spell out the “LOL” is means I’ve just about dropped off my chair in fits of laughter.

I had a professor who raved about this site but I hated this professor.

She was hired by the school she got her PhD from (no, not that good, she could not get a job anywhere else). She also never wore underwear and you could see shadows of where her groin and pubic hair was.

Hit submit too soon!

I associate that site with her and I just laugh.
